• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

P3D v5 The German Airfields 1 in a new look for Prepar3D v5 (released)

After more than 60 Airfields of the GA2,3,9,11 are now adapted and renewed to Prepar3D v5, I started with the GA1 - island hopping. Here is the peculiarity that I have to build the islands in contrast to the mainland largely completely new. Mainly because of the Standard Ground and the coastlines. Borkum will be my test. Here today some pictures, how the islands will and should look afterwards.

IN-CRE-DIBLE !!! No MSFS needed. Vegetation looks awesome. Ground is crisp. Another great project! It seems as every islands building was created....It should not stay with only Borkum....
 
Today something new from the work of @holi51 with a small video. Our "SH Living Airport" will find its way into all GA 1 to GA9 mod. Release is together with our GA AI v2 after the summer break. In it are all the basics for use. The scenes for the Airfields can be retrofitted as easily as they are completed.

This is a GA1 mod for Prepar3D v5 island Spiekeroog. The island has no real airfield, only a heliport, which is not implemented by Aerosoft. We have given the island an airport.

As you all know belongs to the GA1 also Sylt, which of course I implement.

Since it will take until the release of Sylt and I can not provide the aerial photo separately, I have built for you today times a WIP video. Moving pictures are always better than static ones

It continues laboriously, because the autogen in the middle part is real work. I also bought an Asus TUF RTX 3080 TI OC. Everything is set up on my PC as well. Not really necessary in P3D as far as frames are concerned. However, I can now fly with 8xSSAA. and micro stutters are as good as none.

Here times 2 minutes video in between from the current development.


In MSFS, the card is clearly noticeable in the frames, but not a must if the 1080 still runs well.

Here are the settings in the Asus GPU Tweak 3. In live weather, the card makes 1950 Mhz and the system then unfortunately swallows 580 W. Well.... I optimized the fans for both CPU and GPU. 65% is not audible in flight and normally the is also very quiet and not noticeable in my PC case.

Sylt is now completed and with me for the participants in the distribution list for GA1. Every member of my forum can download the current status there if he asks for inclusion in the distribution list. The complete package is only publicly available when the GA1 are completely finished. The ReadMe in the distribution list are only in German.

Today the GA1 mod for Wangerooge went to the members in the distribution list with me. It also includes the offshore islands Old Oog and Mellum.

Have fun watching. Publicly there is the mod after completion of all airfields.

Currently Borkum, Baltrum, Juist, Norderney , Langeoog, Spiekeroog, Wangerooge and Sylt are fully realized. The GA1 from Aerosoft must be installed to use the mod. The mod is only tested in Prepar3D v5. But according to reports it also runs with P3D v4 and the aerial images from @MatthiasKNU.
 
As part of the mods, I have integrated all of North Frisia, i.e. all islands and Halligen into the GA1 photoreal.

Thus all islands along the German coast are complete. However, this will only be published for the general public when I have finished the continental airfields.

The next renewed Airfield for Prepar3D v5: Emden EDWE ,Aerosoft GA 1 needed. Release after all airfields are renewed. Included is also the whole City and the Port

I have bought new video editing software and also again set up a small home studio for the music. My videos I dub from now on itself, with which no rights of authors are to be considered more.

The videos themselves are now all in UHD / 4K.

The release will take place after completion of all courses of GA1. Owning the payware from Aerosoft is a prerequisite for these mods.

The next airfield of GA1 went online today for the participants in the test. It is Bremerhaven EDWB. In addition to the Airfield, the entire area of the city harbor is also designed and equipped with hundreds of objects.

These are St.Peter-Ording and Büsum. After their completion the complete GA1 mod (about 2.8 GB) will go into the filebase for all to download. Owning the GA1 from Aerosoft is a prerequisite for using it.

It's done. The 16 airfields of the GA1 are renewed as a mod from Borkum to Sylt including numerous extensions and aerial photos of all islands The last was St.Peter Ording.
In the next week I will write the manual and then the mod of the GA1 goes completely (2.75GB) for all in the filebase at Simmershome.
