• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hello all,
Posting a few pics of a project I've been working on. It's a science fiction aircraft from an old Japanese cartoon called Macross. I've been working on it off and on for about a year. Let me know what you all think!

Looks amazing! How did you get all the details? Do you have the blueprints? :)

Heya, Sagga,
I do indeed have blue prints from model kits I had years ago. I also have a 25th anniversary magazine from Japan that has technical details on the (mythological) history of the aircraft and how systems work. My Japanese is really sketchy, but I'm trying to mimic the systems as best I can.

When I saw your model I thought about this amazing Japanese 3d modeler and animator: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCIMgZlWleg&feature=channel_video_title
You're putting as much details as to make a movie like that!

Sweet! I started a Sylphid from the Yukikaze series, but never got to finish it. But your model is awesome! I love the detail on that! :D

lol..that's good one.
Well, every mod for every sim I have ever done has always been
freeware and it is my intention to be no different with this mod.
I have always worked under the donation principle.
If you want to pay something you do, if you do not, you don't.

I don't make or buy payware aircraft either...
If I actually had money to donate I would, but in the meantime I'm only studying and thus do not earn my own money...

Anyways, here's literally a little something I'm working on:

I'm really trying to follow aerodynamic rules with this one, more than usually on my other planes! :D That's in order to make it flyable. Which I reckon it will be with a some adjustments to the CG and rotor power... It uses 3 scale jet engines for forward thrust and pitch control by thrust vectoring and 1 electric motor on each side rotor. The side rotors pivot at the same time in oposite directons with the same angle to make the craft yaw, and to roll one of the two drops the fan's RPM to make the craft drop to one of the sides. The fuselage has lifting properties too to help while in forward motion.

EDVP Peine/Eddesse

Hi guys,

"I´m working on it" about a few years but this tiny airfield has a long history. I want to finish it this spring and i use that project to learn all possibilities in scenery design. I don´t want to make reams of airports all over my valuable lifetime - but this one only conquered my heart: The small airfield is called "Peine/Eddesse (EDVP)" near Hannover. It´s placed inside a forest and is closed since 2010. The reason: A very old owner who never makes restaurations over 25 years, hates pilots and his own airfield i guess. All based pilots have to try spend much money to rescue that nicely place, without any success. Nothing doing.:(

The flair of the airfield comes from the fifties, much people from the region feeling sad after the close down of EDVP. The airfield doesn´t represent the rules of action today, too high surrounding trees, too old equipment, a touchy owner. My idea is to enternalize EDVP into the Flightsim by using the same rusty and old look, caused by the weather and faineance by the pilots over the years. It´s a lot of texture work, that includes the re-activation of light illumination, bump maps, broken glass and so on. Other steps are to realize night flights and the scenery design of the whole aerodrome circuit.

My work is prepared for the next generation FlightSims and i want to see it in MSFLIGHT in the future (now you can jump out of the plane to make a excursion) - that´s my ambitition. This thread is only for information. So praise me, when EDVP is released by myself and it runs bug free :)

Greetz,
Christian

Wow, The attention to detail is incredible...I see that part of the fence where the picket is broken and is kinda sideways! Sketchup too it looks like. I must say I'm impressed :D

The level of detail is amazing. One can really see the love you put in designing it. No surprise because the airfields end is truly heartbreaking :(
