Just out of curiosity...
What music do you fancy as the soundtrack to your programming/painting/modeling/object placing work?
I listen to alternative rock normally and mostly, but I find progressive and post rock or any other complex, but unexiting music excellent for developing. It simply offers less chance of getting distracted than my "standard", hard-riffed, dense (in terms of sound) music.
Even nonsensical, spoken comedy increases my productivity.
At least that's what Last.fm tells me. Every time I spend a night developing, the playcount of the progressive/post rock bands and comedians in my music collection is soaring up.
So, what about you?
