• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Traffic.bgl - decompiling - file structure

Hi all,

After many searches on the Internet and, of course, on this forum which is a huge source of informations, i am still alone with my questions.

I try indeed to decompile the traffic.bgl file to get informations i want to use on a personnel C# application. This application should interact with fsx or p3d ATC.

For that purpose, i need to get informations about the AI flight plans. I succeded decompiling the traffic.bgl file. I get a succession of bytes i am trying to understand and to decode. I succeeded to translate the binaries into the understandable information about airccrafts (such as "AC#10,450,"Zagrosjet Airbus A321-200 opb Onur Air") and about airports ("EDVL,N51* 36.66670',E09* 23.85000',836").

But as for Flight plan is concerned, i don't find the right binary structure or logic.....

I must admit i'm crossing my fingers to find someone who could and would help me. May be someone who did the same thing....If you are that person, please tell me, you would make my day !!!!

Many thanks for your help !!!

Have you ever tried to decompile a traffic.bgl with AIFP3 to the 3 txt-files: Aircraft.txt, Airports.txt and Flightplans.txt?

Yes i did and it helped me a lot to decode aircraft and airport data. The FP data are harder to décode....Help on how Times or Flight levels are binary coded could be usefull for me.
