Hi Everyone!
I'm getting fairly comfortable with the SDK's VFX editor. While working on my rocket launch plume, I came across a dreaded VFX bug, which I first noticed at least 10 years ago in FSX, and I can see now that the thing still hasn't been fixed. Basically, a VFX particle is sorted correctly when viewed from above, and incorrectly when viewed from below. Here is what I mean:
This is a column of Space Shuttle launch smoke, looking down. It is basically a column of VFX particles stacked vertically. They are sorted properly - they look like a column of smoke in perspective.
Here is the shot of the same column viewed upwards. Notice how the sorting of smoke particles is wrong? Smallest ones (the farthest ones) are on top of the closer ones. The whole thing looks like a hollow through:
And, if I get "inside", it looks like a hollow tube:
Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Is there a setting in the VFX editor? Or maybe my Invidia card is doing something wrong?
