VGDS Question

#1
I read the VGDS Tutorial in the wiki because I'm going to design the AGNIS Docking system on my own.

AGNIS system is a system which is splitten up in two parts

Nr 1. in the picture is the "more left/more right" indicator ;)

Nr 2. in the picture is the distance indicator and it stands on the right side of the centerline of the gate/stand. So my question is how to realise this? The safegate system have the distance indicator in the front of the aircraft

Hi Daniel,

Have a look at this post I made on my blog.

For the azimuth indicator I used the same technique as described in the tutorial. For the distance indicator I used a bar placed in front of the sign. By giving it the correct position, it will be in front of the stop line at the correct position.

I don't understand the method you described.

Did you used 1 model with the direction indicator on the gmax-"centerline" and you made the distance indicator in the same model; only a bit more right?

Hi Daniel,

No, I made two seperate models. That allowed me to place them easier in the scenery. As the position of the stopsigns is not fixed compared to the centerline at the airport I am working on.

I do plan to release my AGNIS/PAPA docking systems in the future as well, when I update the VGDSTweaker tool.

For the AGNIS/PAPA system I have not made a ActiGate version, as all information on it is static. But in general the tutorial describes the general docking system, not the special ActiGate version.

So I edited the picture a bit:

Would now the "code" in the seperation_plane section be...:

SEPERATION_PLANE di00, (HEADING_VECTOR_X+10), 0, HEADING_VECTOR_Y,
(STOP_DISTANCE+15)*NVL
;15 meters off
DRAW.......

...if the nr.2 in the picture is 10 meters offset to the centerline (y axis)?

Hi Daniel,

No, you should not add anything to the heading variables, as that will make your heading wrong.

What are you trying to check for the nr. 2 position? Distance for stop point?

Topic up.
I'd like to implement AGNIS / PAPA system at Tashkent, Uzbekistan apt (UTTT).
It's similar to what Frankfurt scenery has

Is there a solution how to make it?

Hi,

If you get the latest version of VGDS Tweaker it includes a version of an AGNIS PAPA system (the one used at Schiphol (EHAM)). It is not exactly the same as the one shown on your photo, but maybe you can use it as an example to create your own model.
