• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.

VTP Exclude in FSX

In CYYJ (2007) for FS9, I replaced a small area of UT shoreline - a VTP exclude on layer 6 in the applicable LOD 13 and a line for the replacement shoreline. As many of you know, some of the functions of FS9 UT can be directly ported to FSX. So, in CYYJ FSX, I'd like to replace that same segment of shoreline for those users who choose to do so.

Unfortunately, my sBuilder FS9 VTP exclude doesn't work in FSX.

Can I still exclude FS9 VTP and, if so, how? (The FSX SDK isn't helpful; the term "VTP" appears only once in it, according to the Windows Search function.)

Thanks, Jose. Unfortunately, the scheme set out in that post doesn't help me.

The ported-to-FSX shoreline is a singe line covering a very large area. It's not possible in FSX to exclude only a portion of a line. And, due to FSX rendering priority, you can't cover up (a piece of) a line using a poly. A custom line might work, but that would invove changes to terrain.cfg which doesn't sound like a good idea for such a trivial (in the grabd scheme of things) problem.

So, I'm going to live with the problem.

Thanks again,
Don
