• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Welcome to this new section. I don't know how many tool developers are actually here, but we can use this place to discuss everything related to creating tools. So programming questions, GUI design questions or whatever you are stuck with.

You mean there are other tool developers apart from you Arno ;)

I think so Nick although Arno is a hard act to follow :) ;)

At least I will start the ball rolling by saying that I have a reasonable amount of experience in dotNET languages and C# and VB.NET in particular. Also DirectX.

Welcome ?

Hello All

Richard Ludowise has informed me that a developper group was forming about scenery developpement. Thanks to him.
If you accept me, I will join you with a great pleasure.

My favorite language is VB 6.0, learning now C++; not so easy alone and a lot to understand and learn.

In a first step, my contribution could be in explaining the methods I have used if necessary, and in the design of the project.

I think there are 3 main steps before developping :
- define the language, libraries ...
- define the functionnal perimeter of the project
- define the corresponding GUI and the rules for graphical interface

For example : before using Resample.exe for covering the ground by Satellit photos, I have developped some tools :
- assemble screen shots in one bitmap
- extract a pseudo-rectangular area and make it rectangular (problem due to the areal projection)
...
Do you think that such modules will be integrated in a general tool ?
Christian

With my bad experience with Ground2K, I think that the source must be protected, restricted to the team.
It was not my opinion one year ago.

Hi Christian,

Good to see you here as well :D. Looking forward to your contributions here.

As you might have seen, we have made a special subforum for the new tool we are discussing currently.

Hi Christian
