LiveMeeting is a to have online meetings. But after Nick and I tested the software a bit, it seemed to us that it would also be very useful to give online, interactive tutorials/demonstration on scenery design techniques. This is because other people can see what you are doing on your desktop.
Some time ago we had a first LiveMeeting about the MDL Tweaker II tool and it worked out quite nice. We will try to have such meetings more often, with different subjects each time. So keep an eye on this forum to see when they are and which subject they will cover.
Below you want some frequently asked questions about the LiveMeeting software and how we use it.
Frequently asked questions
Q: Is it free?
A: Yes, you don't have to pay anything to attend a meeting.
Q: What software do I need?
A: It is possible to view a LiveMeeting using an online client in your webbrowser, but it seems this client is a bit limited in functionality. So we advice everyone to install the standalone client before attending a meeting.
Q: How can I test this standalone client?
A: You can not really test it before the actual meeting. You will need a special URL to attend the meeting (we post them on the forum before the start of the meetings) and without this URL you can't do much with the client.
Q: Is there a prefered resolution for these meetings?
A: 1024x768 is the minimum resolution you should have, as that is the resolution of the desktop we will be showing to you. But a higher screen resolution might be useful, so that you can watch some of the panels of the client as well during the meeting.
Q: How can we communicate during the meeting?
A: There are two options here. One is to use the question manager in the LiveMeeting client. This is a bit like chatting with the presenters. The second option is to use voice. During the first meeting only Nick and I used the voice, but during the next meetings we will try with everybody on voice.
Q: I have another question...
A: Post it here in this forum and we will try to answer it!
