• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS What Just Happened?

For the first time ever, I lost several days' work when ADE did something wrong. I'm still using the alpha12 version due to starting the project with it. I got an error message when trying to Build Project (sent to Scruffyduck), got another error message when electing to save project, and finally shut down the program. When I restarted and tried to open the project from Recent Files, the path couldn't be found. The whole file structure for the project was gone. At some point will I be able to load into a project from the community folder files? That's all I have that's up to date.

Sorry to hear that. I will check the error messages. The package in the Community Folder contains the bgl file which we can use to recover much of the project.

To be clear you are saying that the actual project folder was deleted and nothing is left. So, in effect, the entire project was deleted in the crash?

Yes, it's MYGF. The folder was still there, but there were none of the contents generated by ADE.

I am sorry but I can see that ADE can't find an xml file as the latest error but before that it was an error some days ago related to a taxipath surface. This is bug that I have now fixed for alpha 14. Could you zip up and email me the project folders even though they are damaged? I would like to see what has happened. email is jon AT scruffyduck DOT org
