• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v3 What's with all these little excludes that won't go away?!?!?!?

About to tear my hair (what little there is left of it) out. I load up the stock Albany NY (KALB) save it as is, then import the xml file. All over the place are little excludes on EVERY SINGLE OBJECT in the scenery. Windsocks, taxi signs and buildings. About the only thing left alone are jetways. I'm running the latest version of ADE.

Anyway, I tediously go through and delete every exclude. compile the bgl and load up P3d and.... Nothing is there!!!

I compiled before a save to make sure. When I compiled there were no excludes showing. Reload the scenery into ADE from the xml and wow! excludes all over the place again......

How do I make these go away???

Hi Brian:

In this version of ADE:

Application 01.79.7475.29407
Engine 04.75.7475.29405

If I do the same thing as you describe above with the FSX SP2 stock KALB, I see no Exclusions at any time in the workspace.

ADE Menu > Lists > Exclusions = None Found

I do not have P3Dv3, but as expected, the airport was the same in P3Dv4.x when I Opened \Scenery\0302\Scenery\APX28160.BGL:

ADE Menu > Lists > Exclusions = None Found

Perhaps Jon might have some idea what is happening on your installation. :scratchch

They are clearly micro excludes and they have been part of ADE since the earliest versions. It's not clear to me what you are doing I assume loading a bgl file but you mention loading an XML file

You are not supposed to see these. They are an internal part of the way that ADE works to allow users to move and delete objects without either creating major exclusion rectangles or stock items showing through

If you remove them then you will get stock objects showing up in the airport. If you are using ADE as it is intended then you do not see them, do not need to see them and when you want to more or delete a stock object in the ADE display you select it and either move it or delete it. The micro exclude for that object stops the stock object from showing up and there being a duplicate. ADE follows the principle of file priority in the sim whereby the last loaded file trumps the ones loaded before

My advice unless you are using ADE in a way not expected is to ignore them and let them do their job. They will not show up in the project file when loaded but if you are loading the compiled bgl file back or for some reason loading XML then they will appear. Deleting them just deletes the purpose.

PS - if you use the search function on the forums

and search for micro excludes you will a lot of posts about them

Can we ask why you are loading from an XML file and not from a saved AD4 file, as ADE is designed? This problem does not occur in that case.
