Windows 10 voice recognition for simple keystrokes in FSX

I have been searching around here and there on the use of Windows 10 Voice Recognition for simple keystrokes in FSX, and I see lots of references to payware and some freeware products, which all look great and do much more than I want to do, which is to use VR for the numbers 1-9 for simple ATC interface.

I am very new to Windows 10, and only just stumbled on its VR inadvertently.
Does anyone know a simple method to use Win 10 VR for number keystrokes in FSX?

Or can recommend a tutorial in its limited use in games/sims?

Thanks ahead of time for any responses.
Cheers

Thanks for the GlovePIE link Bjoern,
I had already read about and downloaded your script for it, but had encountered some broken links to GlovePIE.
I used to use Game Commander 2 which was perfect for my needs, but so far have not gotten it working in Windows 10.
I was hoping to simplify to just Win 10 SR, and have had some issues with W10 SR recognizing my microphone, although in sounds properties it shows up and responds fine, in the troubleshooter it shows up and responds fine, just in the speech recognition interface it works one time and then the next doesn't. Probably my settings. As I said, I am new to Windows 10.

I will check out GlovePIE and your script and see if I can get it sorted.

Thank You Bjoern!
Cheers

Sound device options in Win 10 aren't that much different to Win 7 or 8, if at all. Don't forget to do the speech recognition training as it helps a bit.

GlovePIE works for me on Win 10 x64 and I've been using it for ArmA3 as well. There are other tools for that sim, but they just don't recognize commands as well.

P.S:
I've updated the manual with working download links. Thanks for the heads-up.

Roger on all of that Bjoern.
I came to Windows 10 direct from XP, so it is all strange to me. While it was working I ran the training three times, maybe it doesn't like me unplugging the headset or something when not in use.

I am encouraged that you run GlovePIE on Win 10 x64 without problems.
I shall strive to make this work.

Thanks Bjoern.
Cheers

Ugh, Windows XP. Two hours installing, three hours tweaking. Hated it and was glad when Windows 7 came along (tried Vista and Server before, but they were total duds). Ten is pretty much the best Windows ever though, at least after you've turned off all the privacy-invading features and removed some of the app bloat.

I agree about Window 10, I like it.
I am having an issue with my Headset microphone which is bugging me.

It shows up in Sound properties and is active on the scale showing volume levels, and it is active in Voice Recorder, but Speech Recognition is ignoring it most of the time.

I have gotten it working a couple of times and done the voice training, then it stops working and I have to remember how I got it working again.

I turned off Cortana completely, I don't think that is my problem, but I guess I need to figure out how I fixed it and remember this time. :) Ugh!
Ahh the joys of learning a new OS.
Cheers

Speech recognition has a standby mode, but they cover that in the basic tutorial.
