Hi,
how do I get ropes in 3D objects in Blender?
To make 3D objects more realistic, it would be helpful to display simple "ropes".
One possibility would be very thin real 3D constructs - i.e. an elongated triangle. But that robs space in the texture and computing power.
Lamira herself shows that it is better.
Simple sailing messengers use a simple shape of a rope.
An object in X-Plane is "only" a text file with information about the points, areas, etc., which the game engine then implements (Actually great, because you can only create/change objects armed with a text editor)
The OBJ descriptions mention VLINE as a default
The pattern would be:
VLINE -0.716764 2.183855 -6.572140 0.533333 0.5333 0.53333333
VLINE -1.253088 2.143787 -4.944320 0.533333 0.5333 0.53333333
VLINE announces the object,
X, Y and Z get values
and the next 3 numbers are RGB color values.
But with me that just doesn't want :-(
How can I translate it into Blender?
