• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hey all,

A convention and seminar for conversion of FS planes (format) into X-Plane format is coming up next month in the Carolina's. A nice hotel near Austins residence will be the headquarters of the 1 week event, with technical seminars on conversions, etc, for X-Plane conversions.

The last night of the event, Austin is sponsoring at his residence, a big dinner.

Can you imagine this? Even inviting us to his home for dinner.... Pretty cool!

If I could afford it, I would be on this. Its been a very bad year financially, so I am not able to attend. Also, the hotel is almost booked up. So if you are wanting to attend and convert your fleet to the new Sim, get aboard.

Is everyone jumping ship for X-Plane then? :whiteflag

I'm not jumping ship, not for a long time. I still fly and ATC in FSX nearly daily, plus intend to keep our main development platform as FSX. However, though I don't have X10, nor have I even installed the demo, I wouldn't rule out our products ever being available for XPlane, especially if it is easy to convert the bgl format to whatever Xplane reads...

I tend to agree with that, but it's really comparing Coke and Pepsi, isn't it?

My humble apologies. This was by invitation. I know they have a few openings, but its almost closed up.

Its in Columbia, South Carolina, USA at the Columbia Hilton; April 18th to the 22nd.

You need to contact Martin Arant at VmaxAero.com and request admission.

I will not be going as I cannot afford it.

Sounds like it will be pretty big. I would love to see a really good SDK written for us FS Gmax guys to convert our planes over to X-Plane.

Can we please keep at the topic of this X-Plane convention and not turn this thread into a "which platform is better discussion"?

It is very interesting to see that such conventions are being organised for developers who are interested in the platform.

If you don't like it as your platform, just don't reply to this thread. This forum is to support developers of different platforms enjoy making their addons.

It's not quite as difficult and complicated as many would believe.
If you're interested in the process, send me a PM and I'll give you a brief outline of what is involved.
