• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

ZSPD update please?

Can someone create ZSPD with its current changes? It now has runways 17R and L plus their respective approaches. And maybe add a few buildings and hangers, something around the cargo terminals. Would really appreciate it

Thanks

This caught my interest and I have been playing with it, but it is a bit of work. I can't find any approach data so just did the nominal ILS approach method.

I think I basically have it done but I need to build some AI traffic files to exercise it.

I see a potential problem in that the terminals have some cul-de-sac gates, which will cause a traffic jam if there is too much AI trying to move at once.

I found one on-line ref which shows which airlines use T1 and which T2 but right now I'm too lazy to try to code gates so will leave that I think. I have WOAI China Southern and I think China Eastern plus the default traffic right now. If there is some airline of particular interest I could code that one.

Thank you Scott! Would it be possible for me to test this when you are ready? I really am just interested in using the approach and new runways for myself, as my computer is only fast enough to run FSX not with any AI... Also can you add some cargo building to the areas like in the picture? Default FSX is so bland!! Thanks

I couple things came up that caused some rework

1. I found a Jepps chart online with the parking stands, so I redid the parking to agree with this chart.

2. I used Google Earth for placement (also checked in Bing which agreed). However, I found some China CAAC documents with lat/long data that agrees with what FSX has in it, so the problem is whom to believe? Since all the area navaids use the China/MS positions I decided to move the airport back to the default position (about 500 m SW of Google). I then went back and cleaned up some of the approach data (but most of this is based on conventional navaids mainly VORs so it didn't really change too much, except the final approaches).

Thank you so much! Do you have time to change around your KLAX as well, to allow all runways to be open so the ATC doesn't disable the options to land on other runways?

I don't recall ever doing a KLAX. I'm using someones AF2 for Simflyers FS9 KLAX and just the default in FSX.
