• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

A major upgrade of my previous release at flightsim.to is in the pipe. This time it's a team work with user chongwen20110901 (ZSHC project). It will remain freeware.
Everything was more or less re-started from scratch, so far with the following new or updated features:
- new custom aerial
- custom models (terminal and tower building for now, plus some more generic ones like light poles)
- terraforming reworked, blended into SRTM 1" data (a custom DEM is now necessary since Asobo screwed the default terrain after WU4).
- new apron extension with 4 more parking stands
- apron and runway reworked (custom textures, custom painted lines, runway slighty moved and extended with a new blast pad at the southern end, etc...)
- ILS id and Tower freq fixed with now real world values

Now Some WIP pictures:

Never flew around China in the simulator, but this airport is changing my mind. Nearly 2000m elevation looks like a nice challenge.

Nearly 2000m elevation looks like a nice challenge.
Not that much, the runway is 2800m long and runway 20 has an ILS. It's less challenging than any airport at the bottom of a valley but still very scenic and enjoyable.

We're getting close to a release: all stuff is in place and we're currently testing and fine tuning lights.

ZUZH-preview133.jpg

Moosoon showers are usually occuring from may till september.

ZUZH-preview134.jpg

180 ponds in the area were fixed (e.g. flattened + water body)

ZUZH-preview131.jpg

Profiled runway (upon Google Earth Viewer elevation data)

ZUZH-preview144.jpg

Terraforming was a pain in the ass as Asobo greatly reduced the Falloff setting effectiveness since latest WU.

ZUZH-preview142.jpg

The number of stands is now 8, following a recent apron extension.

Nightlightning not final.

Landed the FBW A32NX last night in thunderstorm and fog for a few promo shots:
ZUZH-preview160.jpg

Locked on ILS 20. Due to steep rising terrain on short final don't expect the AUTOLAND feature to work properly as it's relying on radar altitude.

Exiting runway onto taxiway A

Parked.

We settling last details for release, expect it very soon at flightsim.to
