• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

How Do I exclude Autogen Objects ?

When I increase AutoGen to Very Dense...I have a small patch of autogen trees in the upper NE corner of my airport - what's the easiest way to get rid ?

Thnx a lot in advance.

Put down an exclusion polygon with the tag (guid) for ExcludeAutogen on it.

I use a program called FSX_KML for that, but I think now with ADE you can also do the same. Look on the menu of ADE, for the green poly button. This will allow you to create a cvx poly...create the poly around the tree area...and tell ADE to exclude autogen.

Rhett is correct. You need to create a terrain polygon. Generally we flatten and exclude at the same tim but there are also a range of specific exclusions available. Create a terrain polygon and then look at the tag type available in the property dialog

Hiya,

found it and chosen "Airport Backgrounds - Autogen". Does that sound about right ? There are loads of options here - just chose the one at the top of the Specific list.

Thnx

If you choose one of the options of texture [Grass, Ice etc.] will that automatically remove autogen objects and flatten ground? Or will you have to draw 2 - One to flatten / remove autogen and the other to add a texture?

Thanks

I always use Flatten Mask Class Map ExcludeAutogen That does everything flattens and excludes. Makes sure to set the altitude to the Reference Altitude of the airport. ADE should automatically pick that up from the airport properties so you do not need to change it unless you wish to change the altitude of the airport itself.
