• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FS2004 Multiple use of the same parking spot by ATC.

A couple of months ago I started migration to win7 64 from XP SP3. In my new environment, I notice that
sometimes (and maybe more) ATC uses the same spot for 2 or even 3 AI aircraft (see attachment), even though there is a plenty of spots available.
I am wondering whether I am missing something, or, there is no solution for that.

This usually happens when an AI aircraft reaches the parking spot without passing through a hold-short node.

Please tell us which airport, which scenery and AFCAD.

I suppose, like George, it is a faulty AFCAD...

George,

I checked again for missing hold-short nodes, but they are all in place.

Guenther,

Airport is default SBRJ with a corrected AFCAD by myself (no faults found by ADE9).

I use "RioDeJaneiroV9.1\scenery\Airport_SBRJ_19E.BGL" for Santos Dumont.

It is a name without the usual "AF2..." or "ADE...", so please check if you use this bgl.

If you attach your AFCAD, we have a greater chance to find the cause of the problem.

As I already told you, I use default SBRJ with an AFCAD file reviewed and corrected by myself.

I will try some tests with your AFCAD tomorrow (without my Rio...), but now its time for FC Bayern watching...

:):):)

As I already told you, I use default SBRJ with an AFCAD file reviewed and corrected by myself.

You keep saying you have a problem with SBRJ but you attached a FS9 SBGR.bgl

If you reviewed and corrected a 3rd party SBRJ with ADE9 it would help if we could see your master SBRJ.ad4 project file.

I am very sorry for my mistake Jim !

Here is the ad4 file.

The AI aircrafts avoid the "hold short node" by taxiing sharp left when leaving the runway ...

You are welcome,

but if there is no serious reason not to use RioDeJanierov9.1, I would recommend this freeware scenery.

Maybe, but, the more addon sceneries we install, the more problems may show up, as they are the #1 danger for a possible FS re-installation IMHO.
Only the airports we often visit should be installed. On the other hand, in case of a re-installation, they are far more time-consuming than anything
else in FS setup.

A FS9 re-installation was only necessary for me 8 years ago, when I built my last pc with Windows Vista...

I admit, more than 1200 scenery layers with about 800 AI traffic bgls are nearly crazy, but if it works....

:D

You never know the time that the problem will knock at your door with so many addon sceneries. You have been really lucky.
800 AI you said ? I have more 4000 AI with ~600000 flights.....:)
