The FSX Acceleration expansion-pack extended the functionality of FSX.
Part of this process required re-mapping several keys to other functions.

Problem

You may find that Catapult/Arrestor Ops, Hoist/Sling Ops, or Multiplayer Racing activities fail to respond to keys.

Reason

If FSX Acceleration CTD'd during it's first run, Acceleration's new key mapping fails to write.

Fix

Do not attempt to manually add the new key assignments, as you're likely to miss some.

Fix 1

With FSX shutdown.

You should copy Acceleration's default keymapping file,
Standard.xml from the FSX root folder
e.g. C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Standard.xml
into your appropriate location -

OS Standard.xml location
XP C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Microsoft\FSX\Controls\
Vista C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\Controls\

Fix 2

On renaming or deleting your fsx.CFG, then launching FSX, you will be prompted with an offer to automatically apply the new assignments.

Notes

Ensuring Configuration is saved

You should launch, then close FSX down, & restart,
to ensure any changes have been correctly wrtitten & retained.

Joysticks & Pedals

If you had mapped additional keys,
or added joystick specific mappings,
you will need to reapply those manually.
