• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

MSFS20 Since lastest patch if aerial image package is put in the game it crashes at airport

My aerial was working fine. After the latest patch 1.9.3.0, when I go to the airport where the aerial (CGL) was created, the game crashes while taking off. If load a different airport, I can fly to the custom aerial and it does not crash right away but eventually. I put all settings to low to see if it was a graphic drain issue, but it still crashes. I also had a smaller file size aerial (CGL package) and this also is crashing. If I turn off online in the Data settings, no crashes occur. If I take out the aerial package from the Community folder, there are no crashes.

I even tried flying around NY City with high settings and online data on, and no crashes.

Does anyone know where I can get someone's aerial package to try out? Thanks.

I tried again. I can fly around for bit or start out away from the airport. When I get low, the sim crashes. I checked my memory usage of CPU and GPU and did not see a spike. Anyone actually getting aerial imagery to work? I would love to have a file posted for me to download and try out. If so, thanks.

I agree. Aerial imagery crashes the sim to desktop. Welcome to the beta.

Current temporarily solution is turning off your internet connection in sim but you will lost peripherals imagery data. Better report to Zendesk again, since more people complaining they may fix it earlier.

I recompiled an aerial project with the new SDK/Patch... no problems and no CTD.
My current project are relatively large area. Is it possible any one can help me testing this package.
It has two folder.
One is the airport called RCFG and another is associated terrain image for that islands.
Airport itself won't cause crash. But aerial image with data connection in sim cause crash.
Rolling cache also cause crash so I have to disable rolling cache on my machine.
Right now only chance to run the sim is to turn off Bing Data.
Really wish to know where the problem is. Thanks!

What are the coordinates of the troublesome area ?
Is there any very blurry textures like this:

I took this screenshot yesterday at the troublesome ZBAD site. I'm sure that those bogged tiles with 'failed aerial, can't retry' make any 'secondary aerial' (i.e. 3rd party package) CTD.

Sounds like a new finding of this issue. I do have such tiles in my CTD area, not really have solid prove of that. But it worth to report Zendesk, they may come up with go solution.

Hi mottoth : I added your aerial to the community folder and went to the area via gps coordinates. I got a CTD. I tried to do my own again with the newest SDK simple aerial and still get CTD unless I shutoff rolling cache and all other live data.
