• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

ModelConverterX 170 and 180 -Unable to Export Model

More good news! I've been able to view new models in place in FSX, and all is well! I'm very happy to continue with 1.90 Dev, and will probably archive any earlier versions I still have. Thank you, Arno, for all your help, and the modified app! (and T Gibson for his additional help) Happy...

ModelConverterX 170 and 180 -Unable to Export Model

Good news! Download of MCX 1.90 successful. I've run a model conversion on my dae file for my EFKK Terminal and it has exported without problem! (ticked the box for 'disable check on C++ files). I haven't yet got my FSX system back together so can't yet tell what the resultant model looks like...

ModelConverterX 170 and 180 -Unable to Export Model

Tried Tom's link, and that seems to have got me onto the download! Currently in progress. I will let you know how things go! Thanks to you both for your help thus far! I'd really be a bit lost without my dabbling with Airport Design and model making!

ModelConverterX 170 and 180 -Unable to Export Model

I get the "504" error with this link! I also tried just searching for Scenery Design and using link that came up, but I still get error 504!

OK, I'll get that one! Thanks, Arno! It'll be a few days before my Flightsim PC is available again, though

ModelConverterX 170 and 180 -Unable to Export Model

Thanks again, Arno. As soon as I get my Flightsim PC back up & running I'll download the latest 1.80 and give it a go! I'll let you know how I get on, but it will be a few days before I can try this.

ModelConverterX 170 and 180 -Unable to Export Model

Hi again Arno, Apologies for going "quiet" for a while - had small disaster - discovered my "flightsim" room floor severely affected with woodworm - had to strip whole room and totally re-floor it! 🤬🤬 (no PC for a while!) I did wonder if the latest MCX could work with any of the later...

ModelConverterX 170 and 180 -Unable to Export Model

I downloaded one that was labelled 'latest release' (it shows creation date 8th Jan 2006 in its properties), but unfortunately it still rejects my C++ files.

ModelConverterX 170 and 180 -Unable to Export Model

MCX Version 1.50 is the oldest version I have that doesn't like my C++ files. This is the only version I can get to actually export a Model file. This version, however, seems to be having issues with producing the right Textures on my models in FSX! I have just created another Terminal building...

ModelConverterX 170 and 180 -Unable to Export Model

Hi again Arno, I don't know how much work it would be for you to modify, say, MCX 1.50 or 1.70 to accept my older C++ files, but I'd certainly like to get one of those versions to work on my system as I'm having troubles with MCX 1.30! The textures on my Sketchup models are not coming out...

ModelConverterX 170 and 180 -Unable to Export Model

Hi again Arno, thanks again for continued help! I used your link to MCX history and downloaded MCX 1.50 and 1.60. It seems like the check for the C++ files is possibly in 1.60 or, at least, 1.50 accepts my C++ files where 1.60 does not! Trying to export X to Mdl file in either MCX 1.50 gives me...

ModelConverterX 170 and 180 -Unable to Export Model

I have managed to get a download of an earlier version of MCX, as I thought it might be OK with my older version of the C++2005, as I have only got the version which comes up using the "vcredist" file on my FSX disc, and this is the one that MCX 1.70 rejects! I have now got MCX 1.30 (tried to...

ModelConverterX 170 and 180 -Unable to Export Model

Hi again Arno I've tried a re-installation of ".Net 8" in both X64 (I have 64-bit Win 11) and x86, so both of these now show as installed in my programs list. Neither showed any problems during installation. I've also tried re-installing the C++ 2005 (x86) runtimes yet again, but still always...
