• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

    Fsds 3.5

Thanks Aero Files,,,,,that answer from Abacus is extremely helpful and encouraging.....that person should run for political office!:) According to latest news from ACE team leader Phil Taylor, SP1 should.....should...be released this coming week.

    Fsds 3.5

I was in contact with Adam Howe last week about another matter with respect to the various versions of FSDS and he assures me that 3.5(the FSX upgrade to version 3.0) will be released " hopefully soon". I still speculate that the hold up has more to do with MS release of SP1 than anything and...

    Fsds 3.5

I mentioned this in a post about FSDS in another thread. I'm interested in going from version 2 to 3, but I feel I may as well wait until the upgrade for 3 is released and do both at more or less the same time. I brought up the prospect that Abacus may be holding off releasing the upgrade...

FSDS Version 3 and FSX Update

Ron, The white blocks indicate missing textures. I had the same problem with Windsor when I first ported it over. Those missing textures are default textures from FS9. The only fix is to determine the exact name of the files within FS9 and copy them to the appropriate folder in FSX. If I find...

FSDS Version 3 and FSX Update

Hi Ron, Haven't been here for a few days, thus I only just read your message. Indeed, I am guilty as charged! As for making CYXU fit into FSX, I have not tried. I have fiddled with my FS9 Windsor(CYQG) scenery in FSX as a proof of concept thing and that's how I discovered the problem with...

FSDS Version 3 and FSX Update

While I agree with this suggestion, I also have another concern. I wonder how much impact, if any, the promised Aces Team performance patch(not the DirectX10 patch) is having on the proposed release date of the Abacus update. In other words, might they hold off until said patch from Aces is...

FSDS Version 3 and FSX Update

Thanks again, Jim. I have to say that I agree with your assessment of Gmax. I bought FSDS version 1.0 because Gmax just seemed too imposing to me. As it was, and speaking as a lay person compared to you with respect to AutoCad, FSDS wasn't a cake-walk either. But I had come across the boxed...

FSDS Version 3 and FSX Update

Thanks Jim. So, while version 3.0 has the advantage of providing for the *.xml, etc., basically, one could get by with version 2.4 and ScenGenX. I think though, that going to version 3.0, and ultimately the FSX upgrade, is probably the better choice than sticking with just 2.4. This of...

FSDS Version 3 and FSX Update

Thanks Arno. Hopefully, others with experience with the latest version of FSDS will respond quoting comparisons between past versions. I suspect that you're on the right track, though and that means giving up on the old standby: Airport for Windows:o Is ScenGenX still a viable program...

FSDS Version 3 and FSX Update

I have used version 2.4 for a few things in FS2004 but predominately used EOD. Having tried my objects in FSX, I find that the EOD scasm code for night time texturing isn't working, although otherwise, the *.api files seem to behave rather nominally in FSX. Those objects done with FSDS v2.4 work...
