• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Yes according to wiki... all legit... take and be free... I notice the Sat cuts off Alaska... which is a damn shame... Alaska is just a smudge of nothingness... Maybe Sarah Palin pissed off Obama... and he said... Nasa, forget Alaska, they too stupid to waste film on... ha ha I think...

    Anyone using FWTools?

Final note for anyone taking the plunge in this area... it works :) The WPF graphic lib has to be just about the most unintuitive thing I've ever played with... forget all your GDI knowledge... its completely different... but its extremely powerful... The big difference to GDI is that you...

    Is Green... A Gremlin?

This is actually interesting... I got my height map to do the exact same thing... what these programs are doing is converting the 16 and 24 bit height maps to 8 bits... and then applying an indexed palette. 8 bits is 256 values and they then just run one full color range against it... the guy...

    Anyone using FWTools?

Hell no... head hurts already... just got this figured out. Hard to see how SharpDevelop competes with MS... all MS has to do is license a protocol and they dead. Thats actually Java's problem... Suns video engines suck because I think MS has a big "dont touch or we'll sue you blind" sign on...

    Anyone using FWTools?

Dick... you have read my mind... thats exactly what I've just been testing... because C# 2010 has gone too WPF for me... I hate the thing. C# 2008 is a much better product I think... I've gone back to it... This is the story... You can get this to all work on C# 2008 Express (price is...

    Anyone using FWTools?

Well I thought I'd just finish this thread off with how to use Microsofts "Big Tiff" driver to parse a GeoTiff... There is just about nothing out there so someone will find this handy... Besides MS having changed the whole damn interface... it works and I'm testing on a 12 meg file...

    Anyone using FWTools?

Ah ha! I knew it... The dotNet 2 and 3.5 frameworks cant handle large Tiffs... any large images for that matter... Also cant handle the 16 bit height maps so I cant do that cool thing and show the user the heights on an elevation map... I was just about to send Gates and General Balmy to...

How to do airport photoshoots without getting shot/prosecuted

My guess is that most of the people "working" here are either in IT gaming, or have military contacts, or work for a satellite company in GPS or mapping. As a hobbyist new to flight sim, and absolutely fascinated by the technology, I think that anyone that has found a niche in this market and...

    Anyone using FWTools?

John Yes... show us the BAT or the JScript or whatever it was you used... A few comments in the code would be nice... Don't think anyone is arguing with FWTools as a production factory... But if all you trying to do is display an Icon (analogy)... too much indivisible engine is the...
