• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

    FSX Gamespy multi player

Most of us started in Gamespy for multi player flying with fsx and as of this week it looks like that service has become unavailable. I'm worried that new users will miss out on that initial chat with fellow pilots that leads them on to discovering the world of add on planes/scenery etc...

I don't have access to my code to check but I think I test for the existence of the chat window handle.

FSX Stop motion video with SimConnect

Just for fun. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=795gHoOnJpQ Took all of the B73X skins found in IVAO ai. Used Simconnect to load, nudge camera a bit to the right and rotate, wait ½ a second for plane to load and settle then take snapshot. Combined 850 odd images for 3 frames each to make...

Demo of Inserting live planes into fsx

I thought I'd give myself the challange of injecting live plane data into fsx. Used Beetles simconnect for this. Nearly gave up trying to register string variables lol! Sort of worked but don't think the data is accurate enough to make this software available. However, it's quite spooky...

FSX Announcing Panel designer for touch screens etc

Thanks to some help from Michael McCracken from these forums I'm nearly ready to move OpenControl into Beta. The app allows you to drag and drop buttons onto a panel that you can then interact with using most modern web browsers. Short video together with some more info can be found here...

DOUBLES Lat / Lng / Alt Conversion factors

Ahh, Guess this is what I stumbled on. I'm just using the data for moving maps so it was good enough for me. Certainly good enough for maximum zoom on google maps. Suppose meters are used so you can use integer performance in calculations where absolute accuracy isn't needed. Suspect altitude...
