• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSX with Multiple Viewpoints using Simconnect

Mike, Thanks again for the reply! You are doing a lot to help me out and I really appreciate it! When this is all said and done, I'm hoping my university will allow me to release the source code so that others can benefit from all of my work. I'm going to see what I can make of all of...

FSX with Multiple Viewpoints using Simconnect

Mike, So far, I have some basic code setup. It subscribes to every frame event on the secondary machine and requests data on the primary machine (the one that the user controls) every sim frame. I have set 30 as my target frame rate. It tests to see if it has received an update from the...

FSX with Multiple Viewpoints using Simconnect

Mike, Thanks for the response. I am going to talk this over with my professor. You have given me a good push in the right direction. If I can get the synchronization down, your explanation makes the task seem a little simpler than I first thought. I may very well be back with some...

FSX with Multiple Viewpoints using Simconnect

Mike, First, thanks for the response. I am wondering if it is possible to pass enough data about all of the control surfaces of the aircraft to let the simulator do the extrapolation for me. Currently, I am sending data location, velocity, and acceleration data about the aircraft. When the sim...

FSX with Multiple Viewpoints using Simconnect

Thanks for the help. I believe that solved my problem. Now, for the next issue. It seems that I can only achieve just under 20 variable pull and updates per a second (I created some timers in my program to test for this). This update includes z, x, y locations, acceleration and...

FSX with Multiple Viewpoints using Simconnect

Anyone, So, I have been working on implementing this. So far I have it working with just two computers. I used a standalone executable that runs on a third machine to pull data from one and push it to the other. This works fine. However, I have one issue. I am unable to set the "Sim Disabled"...

FSX with Multiple Viewpoints using Simconnect

Everyone, Thanks for the input! I certainly have more information than I started with now. I am going to spend some time testing out these ideas with probably just 2 machines to start with. If I make some progress, I will definitely share my experience. I am going to first attempt this with...

FSX with Multiple Viewpoints using Simconnect

Towsim, Thanks for the nice reply. Unfortunately, the only option with the setup is to use 4 separate computers. Otherwise, we would have to change the setup of the projectors and PCs every time we used this particular setup with FSX. So, I'm certain we cannot do that. I like the way you...

FSX with Multiple Viewpoints using Simconnect

Hey Guys, I am working on a project to make FSX work on a Virtual Reality System at my university. I am aware of FSWideView but am interested in attempting to do this without using it. Basically, I want to use 4 separate computers to create 3 outside views and that shows the cockpits...
