• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

    Building exclusion polygons

I can take a look at the project when I get back to my MSFS 2024 computer. Excluding the parked gliders, sheds and other items may pose an.issue because they may be SimObjects that are classified by Asobo as airplanes, static objects, etc.. Look here in the SDK and see what types of SimObject...

    MSFS20 Com frequencies

With MSFS 2020, Asobo split airport data into two file types, APX for airports and NAX for navigation data (which includes comm frequencies). I believe that the author of ADE had intentions to update the MSFS version to reflect that split, but he retired.

    MSFS24 Custom CGL not appearing

Lol, just to clarify, I must have had a brain fart since that's an old FSX workflow. I'm afraid I can't be much help on this because I use ArcGIS to create the tiles from a SAS Planet GeoTIFF.

    MSFS24 Custom CGL not appearing

The more that I thought about this issue, I wonder if it has something to do with either Content.xml or the rolling cache.

    MSFS24 Custom CGL not appearing

The 2024 Developer Mode often does unpredictable things when starting with a 2020 project as its source. Sometimes, at first the project doesn't build correctly, but after opening and closing it again in DM, it starts working. I've never had to remove packages and then put them back in the...

    MSFS24 Custom CGL not appearing

Output a GeoTIFF with SAS Planet. Use Resample (SDK) to convert the file to a BGL. In Developer Mode, create a polygon (type=custom) and use the BGL file as the material. The material should be type "Projected Material" with the BGL as the texture. I'm assuming that your airport has a texture...

    MSFS20 can ADE2020 be used in MSFS2024

You can't directly open a 2024 airport BGL file in the MSFS 2020 version of ADE. The format of an 2024 airport BGL has additional entry types when compared to the 2020 format and this causes all known BGL to XML translators to fail. The author of the conversion library used by ADE has not...

MSFS24 A question about MCX Scenery Export

Is there a reason that the exported thumbnail.jpg is 512x512 when MSFS needs 412x170? When a project is built, it won't validate with the wrong thumbnail dimensions. Not a big issue, I'm just curious.😸

    MSFS24 Removing fuel truck?

The post also makes sense if the reference is to ADE2020. We shall see.

Exporting AIFP flight plans/Bgl into MSFS 2020

BGL flight plans may or may not work properly (more likely not) in either MSFS sim. One way to check your flight plan is to keep changing the sim's clock time to see if that affects the outcome. One other option is to just use AIG Manager to install models and flight plans and AiG Traffic...

MSFS20 msfs 2020 runway approach lights

One can open the MSFS 2024 Virtual File System in Developer Mode and download all the default airport files. Unfortunately, none of the existing 3rd party tools can be used to either view or decompile these files, because Asobo added new sections to the airport BGL format (for example, apron...

Red rwy designators still visible on no draw…

Unless I'm misunderstanding the OP, there is no hold short line, just a hold short point with attribute HOLD_SHORT_NO_DRAW.
