• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Coloration doesn't work for apron and runway materials

Make sure you have "Airport Coloring" enabled in the developer options.

MSFS20 How to remove all workers from an airport?

Yeah, it works now. But then again, it also, all of a sudden, started to work when I had the services file still in the root folder of my project... So, perhaps the location isn't all that crucial, as long as the project editor finds it, and adds it to the layout file. Anyway, thanks for the...

    MSFS20 Cant place trees

Try increasing your polygons' priority (you might have to go above 10).

MSFS20 How to remove all workers from an airport?

What's the final word on the location of services.xml? I read elsewhere that it should go into the Packages folder, but you mention AirportServices/<ICAO>/. My project editor seem to have detected it, and it's included (with the correct path) in the generated layout.json. The only problem is, I...

    How to test AI?

I just made my first airport with parking spaces, and I'm wondering how I can make sure that the AI is working properly. How often do they take off (or land)? And is there anything I can do to accelerate this? I've been watching my airport for 15 minutes now, and nothing has happened... (This...

    Unwanted addon

That's not an addon. It's a developer option you enabled — something with "World objects" (obviously...)

Multiple airports in a single project file?

Yeah, definitely possible. I had 16 in mine (and everything worked just fine), before I split them into separate BGLs.

    MSFS20 Airport Resources

Thanks for the lists! Very useful indeed. It looks like the import routine got a bit confused on those codes that look like scientific notation (e.g. 1E2), so here are those with the corrected code: 0E8 Crownpoint 0E0 Moriarty 0E9 Corydon 3E0 Miami-Roberts Co 1E2 Terlingua Ranch...

    Removing trees

Are you sure the 3D trees are still there, or is it perhaps just the ground texture that still has the color & shade of the removed tree? (That had me confused too, when I first started chopping trees...) Those you'd have to remove via aprons (i.e. put a grass texture on top of the tree outline)

MSFS20 Getting Started With FS2020 HTML Gauges

Seems like overkill. After all, most gauges either consist of some numeric display, or it's an element that's moving a bit in one dimension.

MSFS20 Getting Started With FS2020 HTML Gauges

AFAIK replacing one gauge with another doesn't really work that way, since the virtual cockpit is still trying to refer to the original gauge (whose name seems to be hardcoded in the model). What you can try is keep the file and folder naming of the original gauge, and replace the code inside...

    Merging Projects

Yes, you can. Just copy the BGL files into the shared scenery folder, and then update the layout file.

It's better to ask those questions in the forum, as other people may have the same issues.

Using aprons to remove grass; and use of different surfaces

I just tested this, and it seems there's no effect on either handling, sound or vibrations.

MSFS20 MSFS 2020 SDK for Gauge Developers

AFAIK the file sizes are ignored. Sometimes I never updated them, and didn't have any issues with that.
