    Nearest Airport Page issues

Are you sure about that??? I've never experienced case sensitivity in my XML gauges (at least not in FSX). I normally do keep the same case, but just to make sure I just threw together a little test gauge with different capitalizations, and they all were interpreted correctly: <Gauge...

    dsd_fsx_xml_sound: read looping status

Yeah, I did go through that part of the manual, but that whole section seemed a bit cryptic to me... ;) But thanks for the fast reply! At least I knew now that this feature was definitely supposed to work, and your pointer did help me get it going at last. After some further experimentation...

    FSXA Engine starter issues

The starter in FSX should only engage for 2 seconds or so, but it may restart by itself if it still has adequate fuel pressure and RPMs. So when testing the starter make sure that everything is absolutely dead. To get a good idea of what the starter is actually doing, turn the main ignition...

    dsd_fsx_xml_sound: read looping status

I've been using the dsd_fsx_xml_sound module successfully, and playing either single or looped sounds works just fine, but I have not been able to read the status of a looping sound so far. According to the documentation, passing a 9 to the L:Var should return the looping status, but all I...

    Syntax for switch case statements

Oh, well. A bit disappointing, but thanks for confirming that it was not my screwed up syntax that kept it from working...

    Syntax for switch case statements

I know how to use the case statements in gauge strings and macros, but I cannot figure out the syntax if I try to use it in a <Script> section. Is something like the example below possible? (Depending on the case result, I want to execute several different statements, so this is obviously a...

    Aircraft.cfg sort utility

AutoIt — my favorite scripting language. There's nothing it can't do, and it's easy as pie... :)

    Aircraft.cfg sort utility

I always found it very painful to compare different aircraft.cfg file, due to the fact that most authors have quite different ideas on how to order them. So I finally buckled down and wrote a little utility that allows me to sort a whole CFG file, so that it can be easily used with any...

    Mask affecting neighboring gauges

YEAH! draw_order did it!!! Once I define it, the "covered" gauges worked just fine. Thanks for saving my gauge! For those who might end up here, with a similar problem, here's the details: The original AP gauge (that ended up being overlapped by the mask) was defined as, let's say...

    Mask affecting neighboring gauges

Oh, it's definitely the new gauge (with the mask). AP normally works just fine, and I never have problems with its lights acting up, but as soon as I put the new gauge above it, it goes crazy.

    Mask affecting neighboring gauges

I've created a gauge with a mask that is considerably bigger than the gauge itself, and while the the mask itself works just fine, it messes up gauges that are "covered" by it. For example, if I place it right above an autopilot gauge, the AP's buttons either stay lighted or off all the time...

Debug gauge for ALL simulation variables

Thanks for all the feedback! I was familiar with some of the solutions, but others (e.g. the AFSD stuff) was new to me, and might come in handy at some point. But, despite of it all, it seems there all still either just for user variables, or will have to be manually configured to show...

Debug gauge for ALL simulation variables

Has anybody ever created a gauge that contains all of the possible simulation variables (paged, of course, and perhaps in groups)? I keep writing little debug gauges that contain the ones I'm currently interested in, but am wondering whether it would make sense to create just one big monster...

    FSX Change guage display

In general you should be able to (unless a particular gauge has some built-in restrictions). And, according to this discussion, integrating the CS radar into another panel should work fine.

    Image convertor

You may want to look into ImageMagick. It's a professional-level image processor, free, and made explicitly for batch processing. The only drawback? It's NOT very user-friendly, and comes with a steep learning curve... But if mass edits/conversions are something you might have to do a lot...
