• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Seeking help from Aerosoft A320 Professional Developers or Pilots

It seems the developers who were involved in Aerosoft products have moved on from P3D, because my posts remain unread. I am hoping to find a developer or user of the Aerosoft A320 Professional, who can explain to me how to stop the page that appears between the throttles when shutting down the...

    Project Africa

Good day, Does anyone know whether Matthias Knu is still available for consultation regarding Project Africa scenery? He is not responding to direct messages and perhaps he has chosen to discontinue his involvement. Would appreciate some feedback. Regards, Quentin Moore

P3D v4 All Lights render perfectly when starting at an airport but fail to do so when approaching an airport

Hello Doug. Your suggestion about uninstalling and reinstalling Addon Manager worked!! I am truly grateful. I attach the previous and current effects.cfg files, for your perusal. I cannot see any change, so it seems to have been something else that was corrected. Once again, my grateful thanks...

P3D v4 All Lights render perfectly when starting at an airport but fail to do so when approaching an airport

Doug, There were a number of fx files created during my early attempts to install AFLT lighting in airports. I got confused around the issue of AFLT FSX and P3D lighting and was not choosing the P3D4 LOD compiler. A number of fx_AFLT_*.fx files ended up in my main Effects folder, but after I...

P3D v4 All Lights render perfectly when starting at an airport but fail to do so when approaching an airport

Hello Doug. The effects.cfg file is only 3kb so I have attached it for your perusal, as I am not on facebook or twitter any longer.

P3D v4 All Lights render perfectly when starting at an airport but fail to do so when approaching an airport

Thank you Doug. At least I now know more specifically what to look for. There's been a new twist to this saga of the error popup. Every fx file in the Effects folder of P3Dv4.5 has been tested by a process of elimination and not one of these files caused the error popup. What was discovered was...

P3D v4 All Lights render perfectly when starting at an airport but fail to do so when approaching an airport

Hi All, Thank you for trying to help. Clearly I don't understand exactly which figures in an fx file affect the one>zero error popup. Could someone please give me an example of problematic max/min figures, so I can see specifically what to look for. I presume the max/min figures in the...

P3D v4 All Lights render perfectly when starting at an airport but fail to do so when approaching an airport

I have checked through all recent effects files and cannot see any disparities. There is an effects.cfg file in my Effects folder, which appears to be causing the One is greater than Zero error. It was installed with a repair of P3Dv4.5 Contents. How do I determine what settings in the...

P3D v4 All Lights render perfectly when starting at an airport but fail to do so when approaching an airport

Thank you for your response Tom. I don't remember whether the P3D AFLT was running in the background. However, after much searching and gnashing of teeth, I discovered that the problem was that the P3D Simconnect.dll had been blocked by Windows 10 because it had come from another computer. I...

P3D v4 All Lights render perfectly when starting at an airport but fail to do so when approaching an airport

I cannot fathom why AFLT lights fail to render when flying into an airport, but do so perfectly when starting a flight at an airport. I have spent many absorbing hours installing AFLT lights at a number of local airports and they are all there when I commence a flight, but I am stumped as to why...

TAXI LINK LIGHTS NOT AT GROUND LEVEL : P3D V3.4

Good day, I have been reworking the lights of taxi links and paths over aprons in the afcads of South African airports and when checking them in the sim, they all appear to be above the apron, or taxiway surface. At a guess, the lights seem to be about 30cm (may be more) above ground level...

    ADE and AFCAD in FS2004

Here's an interesting discovery. It seems that provided the scenery folder of the airport has a file with "afcad" as part of the file name, PMDG's IRU's appear to respond correctly to the magvar. This may be purely coincidental, but I have found that it has worked for two airports so far. How I...

    ADE and AFCAD in FS2004

PMDG technical support responded to an earlier ticket I raised with them to say I should run Flight1's registry repair tool as the FS entries were missing in the Windows registry. I have done this, but it doesn't appear to have made a lasting difference. At first I thought this had solved the...

    ADE and AFCAD in FS2004

It is very puzzling, Jon. AFCAD 2.21 was released for FS2004 and I can't imagine why Lee Swordy would use negative for West if the SDK says West is positive. If ADE follows the SDK for FS9, I have no problem with that and I don't want to make unnecessary work changing things in ADE which might...

    ADE and AFCAD in FS2004

Thanks for your response Jon. I was beginning to think something serious had gone wrong with FS2004 in my machine. How will I know when ADE has been corrected, if indeed this is necessary, so that my version can be updated? Quentin
