• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

    MSFS20 MSFS 2020 Managed Simconnect

No I mainly stream Dead By Daylight. I just love flying and MSFS since the very first one they released. I do not know the answer about the approach variable.

    MSFS20 MSFS 2020 Managed Simconnect

Yeah I'm not really active here. Between being a software developer full time, streaming on Twitch ~6 days a week and a family of 4. I've found little time to keep tinkering with the SDK. I was on a long 3 week vacation at the time. I wish I could keep messing with it. Sorry if I've missed...

    MSFS20 MSFS 2020 Managed Simconnect

I used documentation from another flight sim prepar3d: http://www.prepar3d.com/SDKv3/LearningCenter/utilities/variables/event_ids.html "Set throttles exactly (0- 16383)" since 16383 is the max I just used that * (decimal percentage)

Did you ever get this working? Are other events working fine? It could be that this event just doesn't work? Maybe only SET 0,1 works in which case you can make your own toggle in the code? Sorry I was away for a while.

MSFS20 MSFS2020 SimConnect in Winforms && Wpf WORKING, but some help needed. CODE EXAMPLES INCLUDED

I'm currently not getting any sim vars that are string types. I may have to mess with that to see.

    MSFS20 MSFS 2020 Managed Simconnect

I use EVENT IDs THROTTLE_SET to be exact. This is C# but should get you going I would think. public enum GROUP { GROUP1 } //DEFINE ALL YOUR EVENT IDs in one ENUM //Then you can map them all with a simple function //I am only including 4 in my example but you can put every single event...

    MSFS20 MSFS 2020 Managed Simconnect

Yeah I don't have the FSX stuff I just figured it out looking at the samples from the MSFS SDK. It's only managed example was for SimVars and it didn't use anything with events. However searching all files in the Sim Connect examples there are 4 files with SimStart in cpp files. I'll have to...

Not sure what SimStart is. It's not an event in the Manageged DLL anyway. Maybe you are meaning OnRecvOpen? Meaning it actually connected to the simulator? Yes it would make sense to not request data until you've connected to the sim.

Wolfgang, You are missing the smcn.RegisterDataDefineStruct that tells SimConnect what the data looks like that you are wanting. I can give you an example of say the planes location. This is something I'm doing to periodically write the location to a file so I can plot the flight on a map...

    MSFS20 MSFS 2020 Managed Simconnect

Wolfgangmeisner, I've been a developer for 15+ years while I'm 39 I am not surprised about the documentation. We all wish it was better. I was on vacation last week and spent my vacation trying to write something to use SimConnect to control autopilot in MSFS. 50% of my time was spent just...

Event Id for V/S (Vertical Speed) Toggle?

Bewlio, Correct, I had the same problem as you. The EVENT IDs I needed were not documented either. I used the same website and also used the SDK docs proved in the MSFS_SDK install folder. Which are also not good and also missing these and maybe more EVENT IDs. I do not have a better link...

Event Id for V/S (Vertical Speed) Toggle?

Ohhh my I had this same issue when looking through the MSFS SDK Docs and Prepar3d... Being a complete noob at this it took me forever to figure out.... I did find this: http://www.fs2x.com/Tutorials_files/FS2004_Click_Events.txt Which solved the issue for me. AP_PANEL_VS_HOLD AP_PANEL_VS_OFF...

    MSFS20 MSFS 2020 Managed Simconnect

I use VS Code but all I had to do to get the managed dll to work was: Set the following in the csproj <PlatformTarget>x64</PlatformTarget> And then: <ItemGroup> <ContentWithTargetPath Include="$(MSFS_SDK)/SimConnect SDK/lib/SimConnect.dll">...

MSFS20 C# SimConnect Windows Form example

I use VS code and I did <PlatformTarget> x64 You can also use PreserveNewest instead of Always, not that it matters really. Also for anyone reading this that uses VS Code or otherwise, if you keep SDK in a folder somewhere else you can use: <ItemGroup> <ContentWithTargetPath...

MSFS20 Change camera in MSFS with SimConnect

Anyone know how to change the camera in MSFS 2020 using SimConnect? I've tried all sorts of stuff. FWIW I have been able to do lots of other things with the SimConnect SDK in MSFS 2020 so I understand how to transmit client events and set data using the simvars. This also is my first forte...
