• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS New to ADE for MSFS

Once again, I must apologize for my choice of words. I was not implying that simply putting it in my "community" folder would automatically share it, but rather whatever goes in my "community" folder can be shared. This is not my first time generating airports, models, scenery, (LOT's of...

MSFS New to ADE for MSFS

Thanks for the reply, perhaps I should have asked my question differently. I want to be able to share my airport with others in my flight sim club. Therefore, I (believe I) need to "build file" so it goes into my Community folder, and that would make it shareable. (At least, that's what I'm...

MSFS New to ADE for MSFS

A couple of questions about the "two way editing". I successfully followed the instructions, and was able to see an "exclusion rectangle" when I loaded my airport in ADE exactly where and how I placed it so I know the Dev mode and ADE worked properly. 1. The instructions do not state if we...

MSFS [GUIDE] Creating Livery Packages for MSFS

I agree with it not loading LOD textures. Not sure why. I have not run into this issue myself. Does it only do it on "your" aircraft? Or the stock aircraft as well? Wish I could help more. TB2

MSFS [GUIDE] Creating Livery Packages for MSFS

I'm not sure what you mean by "distance" and the differences due to "distance"? When I was texturing, the pink was because a texture was missing. Verify your "textue.cfg" file and your "aircraft.cfg" files and make sure the correct references are in there. I believe the "texture.cfg" file is...

MSFS New to ADE for MSFS

Fantastic! Multiple instances are working fine! I (mostly) figured out the taxi designators. Forgot you had to plug them in first! And you're right, even though it's a lot of work, I think taking the stock airport and starting from scratch is the way to go. Thanks for all you do! TB2

MSFS New to ADE for MSFS

Two more questions if you don't mind. 1. Taxi numbering, you say the numbering is the index of the letter. How would I make "A11" or "A5" for example? 2. Is there a way to get two ADE's launched at the same time? (ADE 20 and ADE 179) That way I could pull up my P3Dv5 airport and basically...

Thanks for the reply! Now I have a project that will keep me off the street at night! 😁

MSFS New to ADE for MSFS

I have years of experience with ADE for FSX and P3D, and just getting started with MSFS. My project is to rebuild KOCF for MSFS. I've built the models and updated the airport for FSX and P3D successfully and now it's time to correct what "they" have wrong! (I have a lot of work to do!) There...

MSFS [GUIDE] Creating Livery Packages for MSFS

You ever get the Livery pack worked out? If so, what's the advantage (if any) in using it? What's it for? How did you do it? TB2

MSFS [GUIDE] Creating Livery Packages for MSFS

RESOLVED I posted the below while having issues, but have since resolved the problem. I'll leave the description below for all to see in case anyone else runs into this. The resolution was that the folders that contained the Texture and aircraft.cfg MUST have unique names! I was under the...

MSFS [GUIDE] Creating Livery Packages for MSFS

Ok, one more post. I have to first admit that the SimpleAircraft and SDK instructions leave me more baffled than anything. I'm a pretty smart guy, and have been doing this for many years, but I learn more by following someone's example (that works) than just gathering information. So with...

MSFS [GUIDE] Creating Livery Packages for MSFS

In what way would it be a “competing“ livery? Other than an entry in a config file… Console window offered no clues. I looked at all 3 options, (errors, messages, warnings). It did have one entry that simply stated “cannot open file” but nothing more. Not sure of which file it’s referring to...

MSFS [GUIDE] Creating Livery Packages for MSFS

I have an interesting issue that someone here may be able to help with. I have successfully created, imported and verified two liveries in My Hangar for the Cessna 172. Issue is only one aircraft at a time will display in My Hangar! Both liveries have their own unique named directories in...

MCX for MSFS aircraft texture verification?

Ok, been experimenting. Will post my results here for future reference or to help some other poor wayward soul. You CAN use MCX, BUT there are some things you need to do, AND it's really only good for viewing the end result, or while your editing your textures. In that manner, it could save...
