• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

    Terrain modification

The overall area in the pictures is in a depression localized at one end of the runway. I know the picture isn't really clear at showing what I've tried to explain in the original post but what you see is not just a hill... it's the end of the runway. Thank you for your input though.

FS2004 Shadow faces in opposite direction???

Have you tried creating a box of the same dimensions, position it as needed and deleted the appropriate face(s)? If so, was there a similar result? Sounds like either FS or MakeMDL isn't happy with an extruded plane but, I can't imagine you did anything "wrong". I extrude planes from time...

    Runway dimensions

Hello Alberto, Although there are specific requirements for all of those features... I'd suggest making it "look correct" instead of stressing yourself trying to recreate it exactly. That's the way I've found that works for me. As long as it looks correct no one will know otherwise and...

    Terrain modification

Thanks Arno. I'm assuming what you mean is to create numerous small flattening areas to try and manipulate the landscape into what I'm looking for. It's not that I'd not thought of that BUT I felt is was too much of a brute-force, low-tech way to accomplish what I've seen so many do with...

    Terrain modification

I was speaking in general terms but you are absolutely correct... it makes a HUGE difference depending on which FS version. I'm presently developing for FS9 with aspirations to also complete an FSX version. So... FS9 would be my primary goal at this time.

    Terrain modification

THE HISTORY: I've struggled with this problem for quite some time and would like some input from those who know far more than myself... The airport in question (MD31), in all versions of FS, is lying on relatively flat terrain BUT in the real world the surrounding area is a bit "hilly"...

    Illegal Copyright logos

My two cents... I have heard that a few years ago a Canadian development team attempted to get permission to model and include Bombardier's facilities at CYYZ. They were threatened with legal action so although CYYZ is a near perfect airport addon... and entire area of the airport is just...

    Lost anti-aliasing...

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Your instructions resolved not only the "original" problem PC but ALL my nVidia machines! I am so HAPPY to finally rid my PCs of nHancer! The only reason I resorted to running that additional program was for anti-aliasing... NO...
