• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

A new freeware project for FS 2004

Hope you don't mind me posting here arno but it is of interest to scenery designers and includes a number of interesting concepts. A new freeware project for FS 2004, kept under wraps while undergoing many months of testing and development, is due for release over Easter. It features new...

    OBPlacer won't compile BGL

Thanks Arno - I'm happy doing that. It's the second MS update to 'jigger' up something on my system. The first, over the weekend, was the new drivers for my Saitek X52 - they completely messed up the X52 profiler and many users have the same problem on the Saitek forum. Ray

    OBPlacer won't compile BGL

This 'Run As' menu is, I'm sure, new since the recent security update by MS. The original 'Run this program in' menu is now found under properties, compatibility. I'm sure this problem is something to do with my recent MS update in the last few days but not sure which one. This is the menu -...

    OBPlacer won't compile BGL

Thanks for your reply Arno. I used ObPlacer to place hundreds of objects in the past and then started using XML for scenery work and only needed to place a couple of api's yesterday. The first api object worked perfectly and produced the temp.sca and the object.sca along with the bgl...

    OBPlacer won't compile BGL

I did manage to place the object by manually dropping the .sca over the scasm.exe. Something I have not noticed before - if you right click on OBPlacer.exe and then click on 'Run As', in the drop down menu, the wording in the Run As screen suggests that if the box is ticked it might cause the...

    OBPlacer won't compile BGL

Hi Arno and sorry to trouble you with this one but it's got me beat. I placed many api objects with OBPlacer (4/11/2004) using Scasm (5/01/2005) and suddenly it fails to make a bgl of an api macro I had only recently used without problem. I have tried a few times and it makes a temp file...

    AI Taxi speed

In case folk don't know yet - it took a little time coming but it should be available soon. http://www.kensalter.com/forum/ Ken Salter's BETA FS9 Configurator with AI Taxi Speed does the job well and after testing at between 25/33 knots with AI Trains and boats it looks a winner :)

    AI Taxi speed

I got involved with Trains for FS2004 and hit a snag - the speed of the train - see - http://www.visualflight.co.uk/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2800 The idea was to replicate some of the Heritage Railway sites in the UK using the VFRPhotographic scenery as a base but the maximum AI speed is...
