• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi, this may have been covered, but if it has I haven't been able to find it.

To start off with I'm running windows 7 Home Premium and FSX SP2.

While I was flying this afternoon I started getting the default windows sounds for the "default beep" without my having any input whatsoever! It started out happening about every 5 seconds or so and in less than two minutes increased to about every second, at this point FSX froze and I couldn't even end the flight with escape key. Shortly afterward I had a CTD.

I started doing some checking and I have four versions of simconnect in my winsxs folder.
C:\Windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft.esp.simconnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_1.0.20.0_none_27a6545ce93c81e5
C:\Windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft.flightsimulator.simconnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_10.0.60905.0_none_dd92b94d8a196297
C:\Windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft.flightsimulator.simconnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_10.0.61242.0_none_e079b46b85043c20
C:\Windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft.flightsimulator.simconnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_10.0.61259.0_none_55f5ecdc14f60568

I had never seen the esp version there before. Can anyone tell me if that is supposed to be there and if it could cause the behavior that I saw.

Thank you,
Mark

was it working before? what changes have you made recently?

Can you check the event viewer or windows error reporting for the culprit files that caused the crash?

the simconnect files probably arent the issue. each one is different.
