• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.

    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.

    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

adjusting thrust curve

I would like to know how to add more thrust in the idle to midrange of a few payware airctraft I own. What part of the airfile hsould I head to? I've been told to go to table 1504, but that doesn't make sense to me. I'm just starting this all, and I just got aired. Please help me become a proficient air file editor.
 
Hello,

You don't tell what aircraft type do you want to edit but I think you mean a jet. Prop don't have a section 1504.

First you need an air file editor. I use AAM, because it makes easyer to edit many tables.

Second you start the simulator and check the N1 values of the engine at idle. In most cases it is something between 35 and 50 % N1

Then you open the air file and look for the table 1506 (NOT 1504). You will see two lines, one for mach 0.0 (i.e. at no speed) and one for mach 0.9 (at flight speed).

Switch to mach index 0 (the bottom curve) and search the point on the X axis near to the before noted N1.

Now can you drag this point wiht the right mouse button a little bit up. Just a little, please. For the given N1 at low speeds you will have more thrust.

Beware: the table actually is for CN1 (corrected N1), this is not exactly the same as N1. But for low speeds and at idle the difference is not such big.
