• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

AFLT Startup Error

There's something you are not telling me. The dialog in the screenshot is the main panel. The error message pertains to the compiler. The compiler is not called from the main panel. What did you do just prior to the error message being generated?

As requested in the manual, if there is something you want me to investigate, please send me your entire library folder. If I don't have all the relevant information (which I don't) and can't duplicate the issue as reported (which I can't), my chances of finding out what's wrong in close to nil.

Don

PS. Please identify the version you are using.

Hey again, thank you for your help and sorry for not providing full story.

I have downlaoded AFLT 1.1 and extracted it to c:FS Lights

I have .NET Framweork 4 installed.

I have followed the instructions again today and below is the attached library and dump file of the error plus a screen of my entery of a new element.

Yesterday I have somehow manage to save an element and tried to make a compilation with the screen I have posted yesterday.

Thank you again for helping!

Kind regards
Klemen

Klemen, when I asked what you had done prior to the error message being generated, I had hoped for a little more detail than "I followed the instructions again today".

I note that the folder "FS9 Compilers" is missing from the "lights" archive and the "INI" folder is empty (so I don't know how you were even able to get as far as you did). Fortunately, the .asm file that failed to compile was still there and that allowed me to determine what was wrong.

The underlying problem is that you are using a non-English version of Windows that uses a comma (,) as a decimal separator - which the code should be checking for but isn't. I will release a new version of AFLT later today that fixes this.

Thank you Don,

now it worked perfectly.

Sorry for not beeing explicit but I did not remembered what I did yesterday very well because I made a few more steps then by the manual and that is why I "installed" again today and followed step by step and when I filled all the boxes till the end as shown on error2.png I pressed create and the error poped up. No other steps were done, that is why I posted that sentence.

The element could not be saved so I guess that is why everything is empty in my project library and that is why I posted the photo what I entered.

Anyway now that things are sorted (thank you again) I will start putting some lights to my airport :)

Keep up the good work!
