• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

age-old problem I think

This is scenery built for FS9, which can cause problems, true, but it seems to work on my machine but not my friend's... at least in this location, Tillamook.

I removed most of the vttp pr vtpp etc files which don't seem to affect the scenery in FSX anyway. Even the Landclass files seem to have no effect. This scenery was done for FS9. I converted the af2 files to afx. I'm sending two jpgs. one is his,Tillamook ridegs, one is mine, Tillamook ok.

Mine looks just fine. He is having the obvious problem you can see in the pic. This looks like a mesh problem. i.e. some mesh installed 1/2 way around the world and affecting this area, which I have seen in FS9.

Lastnight he disabled every one of his installed sceneries and still has this same problem. I then had him go back to the old af2 file. - same result. So I sent him a zip of my installation so we both have exactly the same thing. Still he has this scenery problem at Tillamook. Any ideas? Bob

Looks to me like you need an airport flatten? Anyway I think to get those fs9 files to work right you might need the modified fsx terrain.cfg file which I think is available on avsim and maybe other places.

I did a flatten already. Looking at the pics mine is great, his is wierd. I've seen poorly done meshes do this, but he does not have any meshes installed, unless he installed one in fsx\scenery\* etc.
