• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hey @all

I will animate this Parts.
- Air Intake Vents (closed when Engine off,open when Engine start,close by 420Kts)

<part>

<animation>
<parameter>

(A:AIRSPEED INDICATED, knots) 100 < (A:GENERAL ENG COMBUSTION:1, bool) || ! if{ 0 } els{ 100 }
</parameter>
</animation>
</part>

The Vents are not close when Engine is off.

-Rampplant (move down by speed Mach1 and move up under Mach1)

<part>

<animation>
<parameter>

(A:AIRSPEED INDICATED, knots) 573 > s0 (A:GENERAL ENG COMBUSTION:1, bool) ! l0 && if{ 0 } els{ 573 }

</parameter>
</animation>
</part>

The code works fine with Knots.
They dont work with Machs:mad:

Can everybody help me with this
Problem?

What if you worked them similar to flaps.

What if you work it like a 'air speed indicator needle', with zero being closed, and air speed 'such and such' being animation point open, then speed 'such and such' being animation point being closed again, making the animation part a large needle assembly that you change per the positioning in your animation trek.

Its really easy in a sense, but hard wired into your model.

And........ If you say (state) that the system is electric and when the power is off (engine is off) that the flaps will again close. Thus you could say, for the 'needle' at zero point, the animation would have the vents (needle) open fully, and when you shut down the turbines (turn off generators/alternators?) that the needle would then turn off.

Now, with this.... What you could do is have 'two' shutters.. as I think I just realised that it wont work for 'shut down' above on that last part. So you have a dual set, each with visibilities. One, you have appear when engines are running (viz is on when engines running). Another when engine is off, viz is on. When off, viz part has no animation. Just closed. When running, the opening shutters operate (animate) via airspeed (needle animation, modified trek).

Would that work?

Hallo Sascha,

for Mach speed there is a different variable: A:AIRSPEED MACH,Mach. Have you tried that one, too?

intake_vents

Code:
<part>

    <AnimLength>1000</AnimLength>
    <Animation>
      <Parameter>

              (A:TURB ENG1 N1, percent) 10 >
                 if{ (A:GEAR CENTER POSITION, percent) 10 <
                     if{ (A:AIRSPEED INDICATED, knots) [COLOR="Red"]2.38 *[/COLOR] } }
              els{ 1000 }

        <Lag>200</Lag>
      </Parameter>
    </Animation>
</part>

when Engine off = intake_vents closed
when Engine on( N1 > 10%) + Center Gear down = intake_vents max open
when Engine on( N1 > 10%) + Center Gear up = intake_vents closed/open analog to Indicated Airspeed
2.38 *; intake_vents is max closed by 420KIAS (1000/420 = 2.38)

Rampenanlage

Code:
<part>

	<animation>
		<parameter>

                            (A:TURB ENG1 N1, percent) 10 >
                            if{
                              (A:AIRSPEED MACH, mach) 1.0 >
                              if{ 100 } els{ 0 }
                            } els{ 100 }

                        <lag>25</lag>
		</parameter>
	</animation>
</part>

when Engine off = Rampenanlage closed
when Engine on( N1 > 10%) = Rampenanlage open
when Engine on( N1 > 10%) + Machspeed > Mach 1.0 = Rampenanlage closed

At Time I build an FSX Model.
I try to convert the codes for FSX.
Does not work.
Can someone give me a tip?

Hello @all.

This is the code for the Rampenanlage (Ramp).
It works :)

the ramp jump from close to open position.
I'm still trying to make them fully mobile

Code:
<Animation name="Rampenanlage" guid="5D79AF88-3ADF-475a-BB65-19A61B2626BF" length="100" type="Sim" typeparam2="Rampenanlage" typeparam="AutoPlay" />

<PartInfo>

    <AnimLength>100</AnimLength>
    <Animation>
      <Parameter>

                     (A:AIRSPEED MACH, mach) 1.0 > if{ 100 } els{ 0 }

      </Parameter>
     </Animation>
</PartInfo>
The intake vents doesn't go :confused:

Code:
<Animation name="intake_vents" guid="5F2A41F8-EA1E-4b17-B987-84A45A75B88C" length="100" type="Sim" typeparam2="intake_vents" typeparam="AutoPlay" />

                     if{ (A:AIRSPEED INDICATED, knots) 2.38 * } }
              els{ 1000 }

For the ramp, add a <Lag> entry and adjust the value. Smaller values = slower movement.

Code:
<PartInfo>

    <AnimLength>100</AnimLength>
    <Animation>
      <Parameter>

                     (A:AIRSPEED MACH, mach) 1.0 > if{ 100 } els{ 0 }

                  <Lag>20</Lag>
      </Parameter>
     </Animation>

Perfect :rotfl:

Many thanks n4gix.

Perfect :rotfl:

Many thanks n4gix.

You're welcome. I love simple fixes! ;)

The logic in this doesn't seem to track for me though:
Code:

              (A:TURB ENG1 N1, percent) 10 >
                 if{ (A:GEAR CENTER POSITION, percent) 10 <
                     if{ (A:AIRSPEED INDICATED, knots) 2.38 * } }
              els{ 1000 }

I think you really intended this:
Code:

              (A:TURB ENG1 N1, percent) 10 >
              (A:GEAR CENTER POSITION, percent) 10 <
              and
              (A:AIRSPEED INDICATED, knots) 2.38 *
              and
              if { 0 }
              els{ 1000 }

Thank you.

that´s not work :confused:
I am completely despair.

Oh, I think I see the problem. You didn't capitalize the
tags. Capitals are critical!

Code:
<PartInfo>

    <AnimLength>1000</AnimLength>
    <Animation>

              els{ 1000 }
