• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Blue taxiway light

Hi

Im currently creating lights for dubli airport and at the moment im working on the blue taxiway edge lights.I have a model and an effect working but just wondering is there any way to increase the brightness of the light because the further away i go from the light the less bright it is (unlike the default blue lights in flight simulator which kind of get brighter as you go further away)

Thanks

Terry

Not that I have a solution but just to reinforce your problem: I'm having the exact same problem with beacon lights I have on top of a control tower I created.

(1) I've tried increasing the Radius entry (as the SDK suggests) in the [Library Effect] section with no noticeable change...

(2) I've tried playing with the Scale and Scale Rate in the [Particle] and Scale Goal in the [ParticleAttributes] sections only to have my beacons look like expanding globes of light close-up but no brighter...

(3) I've tried compiling the BGL with multiple beacons over-top of one another...

(4) I've tried adding additional entries in the FX-file...

(5) So far I've not found anything in these forums to suggest a solution as of yet.

Every adjustment and tweak seems to end with the same result... the lights fade to pin-points of color at 1NM or so. Then disappear.

I think im happy enough with my taxi lights using effects.I can almost see them all from within the airport but for the rest of the lights i think il have to use bgl light which look great from a distance but not so good up close

Hi,

I am under the impression that repeating the effect, i.e. making another (but the same) emitter, particle and particle attribute increases brightness.
