• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FS2002 Cfs2

I'm having some serious problems getting my FS2004 aircraft to convert to CFS2. Using a model converter MDLC V.117 I can get the aircraft to work sometimes on CFS2. Other times I have to remove all the animations and continuously tweak my model in Gmax 2004 to get it to work. I'm wondering if there is an easier process to get my planes to fly in the older programs. I really like being able to add guns to my WWII projects and fly them in missions. Any help would really help cuz having no help is really making me feel helpless. (voice of Yogi Berra.)

By the way, the converter im using is DOS based. Therefore I have to boot up my virtual drive and open a copy of XP so I can run the converter on an operating system that has DOS legacy support. (Thank you windows 7) Anyone with a simpler idea will get a Christmas present from me this year.

Hi,

Can't help with the first part of the question, but does the converter not run in the windows 7 command prompt? I have no problem running scasm or other (old) command line tools there.

CFS2 does not recognize "xml parts" used for animation in FS2004. Models that work after the conversion were probably models in FS2002 format.
