Folks,
Ultimate Terrain for Canada/Alaska has been released, and the US and other parts of the world will follow shortly. In most areas shorelines and roads are in quite different positions than the default and most add-ons, which are designed to work with the default.
So most non-mesh scenery add-ons may need be re-released to be Ultimate Terrain (UT) compatible. I know I have to redo the few add-ons I've done. This is rather tedious work. And in the future, if I want compatibility I will have to release 2 versions of everything.
To make this easier I'm going to work with a friend of mine to create an XML conversion utility. You enter original centre lat/long/orientation, desired lat/long/orientation and an xml input file name. All coordinates will be changed in an output file. For a large group of objects you would use a single centre of rotation, if necessary for all objects, so relative position would be unchanged.
SO before we plunge in and do this, let me ask: has this already been done?
I know that in my case this tool will make it a snap to relocate scenery. I'm looking forward to it.
