MSFS20 Custom Painted Lines for Runway Default?

I'm working on making the common black border, black/white line painting scheme found at many airports. While I understand selecting the material for a custom paint file on a painted line, I'm not sure if there is a way to apply this to default runway markings.

I'm working on an airport with some unusual characteristics. So I've done custom edge lines but I wouldn't be easily able to custom paint runway markings. Is there a way to apply the custom paint to the default runway?

I am wondering if you should firstly set all the 'markings' for the runway to false (select the runway and edit object in ADE) would prevent any default runway markings displaying. Then you apply your own painted lines?

Adding to this, I find I can get nicer looking results by overlaying a colorized apron to the paint line. However, something tells me this should be the wrong way to go.

I did that for certain lines. I have a very non standard runaw. Although they are probably all like that when trying to work with the SDK.

I kept some default, like the center and markings.

One issue I had was I couldn't figure out how to apply custom paint to the runway using the default paint render.

The other issues was my custom paint was getting clipped. When airports do the black boarders is seems to widen the stripes.

I wound up using an apron around the lines and the results look perfect. Although I have a feeling everyone be cringing and say to make a texture in Blender and use a projected mesh. :D

I just haven't figured out the Blender Projected Mesh route yet. My Photoshop skills are good but not so much Blender.
