• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi everyone.

I'm working on my first scenery project for flightsim and
I've successfully made an underlying satellite photo for my scenery.
Now I am placing out autogen on this satellite photo using the autogen annonator tool.
I learnt that I needed to copy the default.xml file to the same folder as the tool, but I got an error message when I tried to open it in the Autogen Configuration Tool.
Am I correct that all the autogen is in this file? If not, where can I find all the autogen buildings.

I have included the error message below.
If anyone have any solutions please post.

Hi,

Is that the location where you installed the SDK? I think normally program files folder has a space in the name, but maybe not in your language :).

In my language the Program Files folder
is called "Programfiler".;)
I've installed FSX and the SDK here and
everything is working perfectly except
from the default.xml file.

I've followed the instructions in the help
file and I'm quite sure I've done everything
right.

It could be something wrong with the file itself
so I've included the first lines. Is this correct?:confused:

<AUTOGEN>
<REGION>

K

<CLASS>

<DEPTH>35</DEPTH>
<LIBRARYOBJECT>

</LIBRARYOBJECT>

Anyone...

I don't know what this error is
and I would really appreciate some help.

Hi,

check that the default.xml is present at that directory. Otherwise you have to copy it from the FSX main directory to the SDK directory mentionend at your screen message first.

Thorsten

I've checked and the default.xml file
is in the right directory. I've copied
the file as the SDK instructions said.

It could be the problem that the file
is modified by an addon. The default.xml
file in the folder is 7408kB. Is this
the default file or is it modified and
could this be the problem?

I think that has been modified, the original was 4926Kb. However, the one I use is 7408Kb.

George

Maybe it works if i get the original file.
Could anyone please send me the file or
do you know where I can download it.

Anyway I really appreciate all your replies
and help.:)
