• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Dual Tower Views?

I am updating a stock airport (3B5) with a photoreal ground texture and custom buildings. The Airport also has a very active Float Plane Base some distance from the main airport. I'd like to add a tower view at the Float Plane area as well, but since there is already one Tower ADE seems a bit stingy in allowing a second, lol. Is there a way to do this?

Thanks

Hi falcon409,
Why don' t you add a CameraDefinition to your 'Cameras' file? (path: C: ...\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX)

[CameraDefinition.012]
Title = 3B5 view
Guid = {you need an individual Guid here}
Description = 3B5 view
Origin = Fixed
SnapPbhAdjust = Swivel
SnapPbhReturn = False
PanPbhAdjust = Swivel
PanPbhReturn = False
Track = None
ShowAxis = No
AllowZoom = Yes
InitialZoom = 4.0
SmoothZoomTime = 1.0
ShowWeather = Yes
XyzAdjust = FALSE
Transition = No
ShowLensFlare=FALSE
Category = Tower
ClipMode = Tower
NoSortTitle = True
FixedLatitude=N44.182224
FixedLongitude=W70.218959
FixedAltitude=100
InitialPbh=0, 0, 0

You will have to fine tune the position and altitude according to your taste.

It will show up in the sim like this:

cameras_02.jpg

Yours will read '3B5 view' instead of 'OMDB view'

The number after 'CameraDefinition' in the first line has to be the next consecutive number after the previous entry. Please create a backup copy of your 'Cameras'-file!

If your joystick features a hat switch you will be able to rotate your view!

btw.: Nice work :) !
