• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

F-16 Block 52+ Developer Project

Hi, My Name is Michael C and I am interested in administrating a F-16 Project For FSX. I am a very avid user of flight simulator X with my own youtube channel www.youtube.com/michaelc136 . I am very well known through out the community and I am looking forward to benefiting it.

I have seen many other addons such as the VRS Superbug, Or even the Iris F-15 (I currently work for Iris) But as a project for myself and for others I would like to start and administer this F-16 project.

My Goal:
My goal is to try and create the most advanced representation of the F-16 for FSX to date. Using information from simulators such as Falcon BMS I believe that we have enough knowledge to make a Beautiful Plane that will be up to par with the VRSimulations Superhornet (Since I am one of their biggest fans). I believe With enough people and enough dedication I think we can get this project going and bring income.

As of now I am only looking for advanced volunteerism, Few people who are willing to give their time to create a remarkable achievement that may go on for Years.

-Graphic Designers
-Modelers

Pretty much the basic of Flight Sim design.

Features which I am looking to have:
-A fully Functional array of the F-16 in all of its glory
-Mission Planner With Virtual Data Cartridge input.
-Live working EW system With Detection in game
-Various different mode selection from CCIP to CCRP
-Ripple quantities with Pair
-CDU input markpoints
-Datalink standoff communication
-Ground Radar (full functionality)
-Air to Air Radar (full functionality)
-And Much more.

Im looking for people that have a general Knowledge of the F-16 people who know the plane, I want this to be as real as it can be and potentially be sold.$

That means I need ADVANCED FSX Developers. A group of Us for the pride of a life time!:greenflag

As soon as I get the people, We can start planning out the future for the addon to bring the most realistic addon to FSX

A good idea, but why would you model it to par with other simulator add-ons? Base it on factual reality, which on the F16 is not hard to acquire online due to age of the aircraft. All the major specs are available for many variants on the wiki page alone, thats just a brief skim. I would, if tackling this project, make it as close to the real deal as possible.
If you model it to another sim model, then why would we not just use that one over yours?
Dont want to sound rude and please dont take it that way. Its constructive and thats one pov.
 
Sorry bud maybe I communicated wrong, what you are saying is very accurate to what I believe myself, Because of the age of the plane, various resources are available. Which I believe myself and others can make this plane to be the most realistic addon for flight simulator X
 
a) Don't aim too high. To achieve what VRS or IRIS achieved requires either dedication or experience, and...

b) Offering oneself up exclusively as the project lead without any knowledge and/or willingness to actively participate in at least one core development area doesn't make your offer very attractive for others.

So if you really want to do an ultra realistic F-16, start doing one (by modeling or such) and *then* ask people to join in. That's much more likely to work.
 
Everything you say is true but I work for Iris simulations So I have their assets because they gave us the opportunity to host it through them (If I decide to go through it of course) But thanks for the advice, And to the others that joined me aswell
 
I'm a bit confused with "well known in the community". If you have developing experience and you only just joined here perhaps you could point me to some of the work you have done as I have been haunting developer forums (and regular FS forums) for a lot of years and I have no idea who you are.
 
well probably not your side of the town, I didnt really pertain to the development community, More so, people usually know my videos better than they do recognize me

I have to warn you though, that Lockheed Martin has a copyright firm seeking licensing fees, and the royalty is not cheap. I cant reveal exactly how much, but its sizable amount. Minus publishing cost and other cost, the project becomes costly. Of course though, its up to you to choose.

so dont call it a lockheed martin bird or use their logo's and you wont have an issue; unless you use actual blueprints to scale, that could cause issues.

    • Do you model, graphic design, program?
  • What is IRIS offering, as far as the 'assets' you mentioned?
  • When the project is complete, IRIS will host it? What does that mean?
    • We do all the work, then IRIS sells it and gets what I will presume is probably going to be a pretty big cut( 40%+ )?
  • Why the need to program CCIP/CCRP, fully functioning RADAR, etc, etc in a simulator that was clearly for GA/Commercial Simulation?
    • Why not just go buy a DCS Series Simulator, Falcon 4.0/AF or an actual combat simulator, where all of this already exists?
  • Once there is money involved, how do you decide who gets what?
