• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Flat Area

In order some of my FS9 sceneries on FSX I want to know how can I do a flat area for those.

I know that the principal problem of compatibility between FS9 and FSX is that the way of creating flat areas is completly different and the flat areas of the sceneries of Flight Sim 9 are not working on FSX... and this is why if I put a FS9 scenery on my FSX is probable to get flashing textures...

So my question is:

How can I do a flat area for FSX?
Exist any program to do that?

Hi MZBS.

FSX Service Pack 1 has just been released. It may allow the use of some FS9 sceneries that use the old "flat earth" type flattens. Try it and see, and report back your findings.

Thanks i will try some sceneries...

But anyway for the sceneries that doesnt work with FSX (for example the photo-scenery airports like Girona (Spanish Airports 2-Aerosoft) etc. that needs new flat areas... how can i do that?

Thanks!!!

Flatten

Hi,

To create a flatten fpor FSX you can use the free tool Sbuilder for FSX, available at:

http://www.ptsim.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=915

Don´t forget to take a look at the FSX SDK, to assign the proper guid to the flatten´s polygon.

You can use too FSX KML, available on this forum. Make a search, please.

Regards,

José
