• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FS Earth Tiles - Many Issues, But Let's Start With The First

Hello everyone,

My first post here :)

I've had no end of issues with FSET, largely with FS2004 ... but all being well you might be able to assist with that later.

Right now I want to focus with FSX and create some photo scenery.

I created the Json file first from an Aussie website outlining the entire country.

One by one I created state boundaries via Map Shaper, and exported as KML.

Following info on this site somewhere, I installed GE Pro V7xxx.

One by one I placed the KML files into this and saved place as KML.

I followed the directive of FSET and renamed a 'test' file as AreaKML.KML.

I dragged it into the FSET .exe, the program starts but that's all. It's preset to some place state side.

I clicked 'K' - nothing happened.

I just pressed 'Start' and it thinks resampleFSX isn't in the main folder, even though it is (It is the correct FSX SDK extraction).

I checked out my area (in this test, NSW Aussie), no boundaries.

Started again with said file in 'Work Folder' and set directions to that folder in the ini file.

Still no joy.

That's how far I've got with it.

This is all totally new to me so don't get too carried away with hyper big tech chat if you reply ;)

All the best and thanks for helping out...

Johnny
