We have a weird problem. We are building some detailed custom scenery for FS9 with Gmax, with placement of the models in ADE. The compiled scenery files work fine in my co-designer's PC but in mine, after I shut down FS9 (Ctrl C) I get a message to say that "FS9 has stopped running". I can cancel the message if I'm quick, but if I'm not FS9 re-starts. This happened on my previous PC with the custom scenery loaded (Windows XP) and again on my new one (Windows 7) with a clean install of FS9.
We have used a process of divide and conquer to split the main placement file into subsets in an attempt to trap any suspect models. The process of splitting the files like that actually solves the problem for me, but any attempt to amalgamate some of the sub-divsions back up into a larger file, brings the shut down/re-start into play again. Remember, this is after I have actually shut down FS9.
Has anyone experienced this before, or could any suggestions be made please as to what the root cause might be. We can obviously run fault free with the split .bgl files, but it's just bugging us.
Thanks in anticipation,
John
