• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

FSDS 3.51 Texture Path

Hello! I tried to create a folder in my main FSX texture folder to keep my scenery models specific textures in. I apply the textures in FSDS, mapping the textures to the folder and textures I created.

Set the same texture path in FSDS project properties. Compiled, placed with ADE, compiled, they don't show up in FSX. Is there a way to organise textures by folder, what's the best way to do it or do they all just have to be in the main FSX texture folder?

Thanks

You can keep your textures that are used by FSDS anywhere and set FSDS to look to that folder. This doesn’t even need to be on the same hard drive as the game.

But once you have completed a project, then the textures need to be next to the scenery folder that has the scenery BGL files.

You want something like this.
Make a folder called N316EC_Test_Airport. (This also can be located anywhere).
And in the folder called (N316EC_Test_Airport) you need a scenery and texture folder

BGL files go into the scenery folder and all custom textures (in the correct format) into the texture folder.

If you use any default textures the game will look in your new texture folder first then in the main texture folder of the game so you do not need to include them in your texture folder.

Then from the scenery library of the game you need to activate this project.

Hi,
I place my texture in only one folder, the one that discribe Farfy. So I have only one texture file and one texture folder to manage. Not only it is more simple, but it is also fastier when fine tuning on the texture.

Thanks

Thanks for the help, it will help keep me a bit more organized. I'll give it a try.
