• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSDS Texture Detail Problem.

Hi.
I have observed that with gmax the level of detail in textures never is lost, even though I am far(for scenery`s).
But with FSDS v3 doesn't happen this, I see that the textures are defined depending on my distance; Somebody knows if this program has some kind of level for the textures....i mean something so that the texture always is seen well and not blury when I am far.

Some advice would be thankful. :)

If someone can not help you with FSDS v3 Blurry Textures can be
sharpend by loading them into DXTBmp, untick the Mip Map boxes and resave.
Not a very sophisticated way , but you wont have blurry textures and you
might end up with slow frame rates.

DXTBmp is free and available from

Removing mipmaps from a texture is not a very good idea. It is common practise to add mipmaps to them and this is also adviced for performance.

There should not be a difference between FSDS3 and GMax here either, as both use MakeMDL to create the MDL file. But sometimes it happens that MakeMDL does not store the correct texture scale in the MDL files and in that case the lower mipmap is used too soon (and thus results in a blurry texture). In my MDL Tweaker tool I have added an option to correct the texture scale.

Done!!! :rotfl:
And i just can say....."WOW" Tasmanet you are expert in this ;) and Well....with your advice the blurry it disappear. thanks for that man.(you helped me much)

And Arno thanks for clear my mind about that doubt if GMAX or FSDS leaves blurry textures...now i know that both programs have the same result.
and about the scale...yeah I need to learn more about that.
MDL tweaker?? Well I must learn much to do something like that too. :D

Thank you....thank you!!! for help me whit this.

Sincerely
Tim.
