Hi Rudder
FSDS 3.5.1 makes scenery objects very nicely for FSX. I read your earlier post and I think you are making this harder than it need be.
You need to get the paths set to the various files that FSDS needs then things are easy.
In “ Preferences” click on “Compile Options” at the bottom of this window set path to the flight simulator and click “Continue”
On this window select “XToMDL”
Then the next three paths should be set to something like these
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Modeling SDK
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\BGL Compiler SDK
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Modeling SDK\3DSM7
This is how I have my FSDS set and it works for me.
Now you can make your test cube and compile as a MDL file which you will need to use a third party program like Arno’s LibraryCreater, then Whisplacer to make a BGL file then Install into the game…this is the long way and for making final scenery this is likely better way but for fast testing and working on a project a better way is next.
OR ( And I would recommend you try this way first) you can make a scenery BGL file here with FSDS , First you need to go into the game Slew to the location you would like to put your test object , write down the cords and Alt at that spot , close the game come back to FSDS , make your test object, Then go into “File “ and down to “ Project Properties” and In here enter the cord and alt (NOTE to enter and west cord you have to put in a neg. (-) first then the number).
Now save your work then compile as a BGL, Next take your new BGL file and Install into the game. If the scenery gods are kind to you should see your object.
